Rumors began to surface over the weekend about the Cubs possible interest in Jim Edmonds. A report in the Tribune on Monday morning mentioned the Cubs were "exploring the possibility" of adding the former Cardinal to their roster.

According to a report in the Chicago Tribune on Sunday night, Sean Gallagher could make his second big league start against the Pirates next weekend. The Cubs will start Carlos Zambrano in the opener against the Padres on Monday.

During the Cubs impressive win against the Diamondbacks on Friday, the announcement was made that Geovany Soto was named the National League Rookie of the Month for April. Soto earned the first monthly honor handed out to the league's top rookie performer....the new award is sponsored by Gillette.
