The National Basketball Association (NBA) is the world's premier men's basketball league. It has 30 teams; 29 in the United States and one in Canada. It is an active member of USA Basketball (USAB), which is recognized by FIBA as the National Governing Body (NGB) for basketball in the United States. The NBA is one of the four major North American professional sports leagues. The league was founded in New York City, United States on June 6, 1946 as the Basketball Association of America (BAA). The league adopted the name National Basketball Association in the autumn of 1949 after merging with the rival National Basketball League. The league's several international and individual team offices are directed out of its head offices located in the Olympic Tower at 645 Fifth Avenue in New York City. Nady Might Not Be at Full Strength Until June
Xavier Nady made his spring debut on Wednesday as the Cubs' DH. Nady finished the game 1-for-2 with a walk. The Cubs' projected fourth outfielder can hit but might not be able to throw at full strength until June. Nady is recovering from his second Tommy John surgery.

It was good to see the Cubs back on the field and to be in a ballpark again.There was a different vibe around the team over the weekend. The players appeared to be working hard, but with upbeat attitudes and smiles on their faces ... last spring they seemed to just be going through the motions.

Angel Guzman's Latest Injury Could Be Career-Threatening
