San Antonio Spurs

The San Antonio Spurs are an American professional basketball team based in San Antonio, Texas. They play in the National Basketball Association (NBA). The Spurs are the only former American Basketball Association team to have won an NBA championship, which they have done three times. As of November 2006, the Spurs rank second of active franchises for highest winning percentage in NBA history (behind the Los Angeles Lakers). The Spurs passed the Boston Celtics (the first franchise to do so with a statistically significant number of games played since March 30, 1988) with a win over the Miami Heat on November 22, 2006. The Spring Training games finally began over the weekend with both positive and not so positive results ... plus a few injuries. It was good to see the Cubs back on the field and to be in a ballpark again.There was a different vibe around the team over the weekend. The players appeared to be working hard, but with upbeat attitudes and smiles on their faces ... last spring they seemed to just be going through the motions.

Angel Guzman's Latest Injury Could Be Career-Threatening

According to multiple reports from Mesa on Saturday, Angel Guzman has a "significant tear in a ligament in his right shoulder" and will be shut down for the foreseeable future. The MRI on his right shoulder not only revealed a significant ligament tear but instability in his shoulder.

Titans Tender Six Players

As expected, the Tennessee Titans have tendered a number of key restricted free agents including Bo Scaife, Tony Brown, LenDale White, Stephen Tulloch, Kevin Vickerson and Dave Ball. Scaife's first-round tender will cost the team $4.9 million in 2010 due to the TE being franchised last season. Brown's first-round tender will be $2.621 million this year though the Titans continue to negotiate for a long-term contract. Tulloch has been given the first-round tender as well and is scheduled to make $2.521 million in 2010.
