Lancashire Cricket Club is based in Woodlands, Pietermaritzburg and most of its players are from the Woodlands and surrounding areas. We have four teams entered in the local Maritzburg Cricket Association, starting with our first team in the Premier league, second team in the Premier reserve league, third team in the 1st Division and fourth team in the Saturday league. Since formation the Club has grown from strength to strength. We have triumphed over many hurdles to have progressed from just having one team to now having four teams in just ten years. We are also trying to promote a ladies team to play in the local ladies division aswell. It has taken hard work and dedication to have progressed so far. Lots of effort from management structures has stood us in good stead over the years to further develop the club into a strong organisation within not only our community but within our town and country aswell . Players dedication not only to the club but to the game has made us one of the teams for the future. The club has been the beneficiary of a Cricket World Cup Legacy Project, in the form of a clubhouse built at the main Woodlands sports grounds. An extensive amount of work and equipment and continuous up-keeping of the facility is required. The clubhouse itself belongs to the City Council but they are not active in the maintainance and up-keep of the building and therefore we need all the support possible in terms of funding to keep this going.
