Multiple reports following Monday night's game against the Padres stated the Cubs "are poised to ink the lefty-hitting outfielder." Edmonds is likely to clear waivers on Wednesday according to the Tribune and while Jim Hendry did not comment on the rumors, the Tribune reported "sources in the Cubs organization insist he will jump at the chance to sign Edmonds if he's available."
