L'argentin Juan Martin Del Potro s'est imposé en finale du tournoi de Los Angeles en battant la tête de série numéro 1, l'américain Andy Roddick sur le score de 6-1,7-6. L'argentin cumule les victoires en ce moment puisque après Stuttgart et Kitzbühel (sur terre battue), il remporte donc son 3ème tournoi consécutif, sur dur. Del Potro, âgé seulement de 19 ans obtient donc son meilleur classement cette semaine et devient 19ème joueur mondial.
