Did Someone Put A Curse On Brent Barry?

So I remember seeing RMJR's 3PP and wanted to see his ranking league wise.

I saw that he was thirteenth in terms of percentage, and sixth in terms of shots made.

So for whatever reason I went to see how Brent Barry was doing, I searched the list for "Barry" but nothing came up, so I went to his player page and saw that he's playing about twenty minutes, has missed two games with a sprained thumb, and is shooting twenty five percent from three.

Has his thumb been sprained the whole season, or did someone put a jinx or curse on his ass?

Just a quick one to say that I’m still pretty sick at the moment and won’t be able to post today.
Are You Serious:Bowe to attempt comeback

http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/box...ory?id=3715881

Updated: November 20, 2008, 5:44 PM

FRANKFURT, Germany -- Former heavyweight champion Riddick Bowe will fight for the first time in three years on the undercard of the IBF title fight between Wladimir Klitschko and Hasim Rahman.

Bowe's opponent for the Dec. 13 fight is yet to be determined, promoters said Thursday.

Bowe, 41, retired in 1996 and came back in 2004. He had another fight in 2005 and has not fought since.

Bowe's only loss in 43 fights was against Evander Holyfield, who at 46 is preparing to fight Nikolai Valuev next month for the WBA title.

Are cats really hurting this bad.....give it up dude give it up

What if spurs sign Marbury and McDyess

This to me looks like the best way the spurs can improve their roster without trading, since the spurs have nothing to trade other than the Big 3. Even though many spurs fans don't think Marbury is a spurs type player, I think we can put up with him for one year to help the spurs get a championship, and then let him go next year. I know some ppl might think this will hurt George Hill's development, but I don't think Hill can help us in the playoffs as much as marbury can. And there's not much needed to say about McDyess other than the spurs could really use him, since none of the bigs are helping TD right now. If the spurs were to sign these guys, they would probably cut ahearn and reassign Tolliver to the d-league, but well worth it. So with the return of a healthy TP, Manu, and Mahinmi, and the signing of Marbury and McDyess, along with a completely healthy spurs team, I think the Spurs would seriously have a good shot at winning the championship.

So Spurs Fans, what do u think of this possibility, and it is possibe? And how do u think the spurs season will turn out if we did sign Marbury and McDyess?

New Animal Collective song....

...I don't know how many posters are familiar or care for this band but here's their new song "brothersport"

http://www.grizzly-bear.net/media/brothersport.mp3

Curious as to what you guys think.

It's a lengthy song and some may find it a bit repetitive but I think it's fantastic.

(and yes, the web link is from the band Grizzly Bear who are hosting the song since they were raving about it on their blog)

What/who could the Suns get by trading A'm'a'r~'r'e?

Ugh, I just don't think this is a guy that the Suns can hitch their wagon to take them to a title (not that I really considered them a contender this year).

The Dude to me is on the wrong side of substance/style. Sure, he'll have some highlight-reel dunks and a great game ever once and awhile, but I don't thin the Suns can count on him in the long run. He can't defend, doesn't possess a good b-ball IQ, (let's leave is real IQ out of this, okay? haha) and in general just seems to take nights off. His 20-25 points he scores a night just seem so 'empty' to me.

Anyway, not that most of you guys care, but what do you think the Suns could fetch in a trade for Mr. Stoudemire?

E=MC2: 103 years later, Einstein's proven right

e=mc2: 103 years later, Einstein's proven right
PARIS (AFP) It's taken more than a century, but Einstein's celebrated formula e=mc2 has finally been corroborated, thanks to a heroic computational effort by French, German and Hungarian physicists.

A brainpower consortium led by Laurent Lellouch of France's Centre for Theoretical Physics, using some of the world's mightiest supercomputers, have set down the calculations for estimating the mass of protons and neutrons, the particles at the nucleus of atoms.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20081120...n_081120235605

Attention league: The Lakers aren't that good

Why aren't some of these teams taking it to the Lakers? There are plenty of teams (including Phoenix tonight) that are more talented and better than the Lakers. Why are teams repeatedly not showing up to play against them? Are Pau Gasol, Andrew Bynum, Lamar Odom, and Jordan Farmar really that intimidating? Why are they playing scared? It's like the 2006-2007 BS we saw with the Mavs. They were making their shots, shooting the ball well, and had most teams play like junk against them. It took a team that barely got the 8th seed to just go out there and play some real basketball, to get rid of them.

Maybe they have to play Boston (as in the 2008 Finals) or Detroit (as in last week) for everyone to see how average they are.

I will say it right now: when the Lakers play the Spurs in January, they will not win. In fact, the Spurs will sweep the season series against the Lakers.

It's time for the league to step up against these jokers.

Chris Kaman to the Spurs?

http://dailytimes.com/story.lasso?ewcd=2010472acb5494ce

Quote:

One option might come from one of the Spurs recent opponents the Los Angeles Clippers, who look eager to shake things up after an overhauled roster has squandered plenty of opportunities during their 2-9 start.

With the emergence of Marcus Camby, who was acquired from the Nuggets in the offseason for next to nothing, the Clippers are reportedly willing to trade 26-year-old center Chris Kaman, a beast in the paint who still has four years at almost $11 million per year left on his contract.

But at 26 years old, Kaman is still in the prime of his career and would give San Antonio the type of inside game it had when Duncan joined The Admiral David Robinson in 1997, a combination that ultimately turned the Spurs from an average team to a perennial contender.

Playing a limited roll at times this season, Kaman is averaging 13.2 points per game but more important is his average of 10.5 rebounds.

McDonald: Spurs keep tinkering with lineup

http://www.mysanantonio.com/sports/s...th_lineup.html

For Spurs forward Matt Bonner, the typical workday begins nearly 10 hours before tipoff. His game-day ritual is prescribed down to the kind of fine detail that would make Felix Unger look like Oscar Madison.

He must be on the practice court exactly one hour before the morning walkthrough, to work out and limber up. He must shoot 75 free throws before breaking for lunch. As game time nears, he must return to the court precisely 55 minutes before scheduled start time for one last warm-up.

I try to approach every game the same, Bonner said. I try to be ready in case my name is called.

Once the ball goes up, Bonner's game-day routine becomes anything but.

He might play 25 minutes. He might not play at all. He is a Minuteman, ready for action at a moment's notice, except sometimes the British aren't coming.

Such is the uncertain life of a Spurs bench player.

With prime point-producers Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili out with injury, and with offense at a premium, coach Gregg Popovich has had to become a bit of a mad scientist. He's been piecing together all sorts of patchwork lineups, with the goal to generate a bit more scoring without sacrificing the defensive prowess that wins games.

The end result: Unless your name happens to be Tim Duncan, your minutes are always TBD.

It's still a work in progress, said guard Roger Mason Jr., who has started seven games and come off the bench in four. There are going to be good days and bad days. Right now, we want to stay afloat and hang around until Manu and Tony get back.

Popovich's lineup button-pushing is likely to continue tonight when the Spurs host a Utah Jazz team battling a lingering injury issue of its own. All-Star point guard Deron Williams has played only two games so far while dealing with an ankle sprain suffered in the preseason, and is listed as day-to-day.

In 11 games this season, the Spurs have trotted out five different lineups for the opening tap. In an odd bit of trivia, three players Bonner, Ime Udoka and Kurt Thomas have logged at least one start and at least one DNP.

At this point, Popovich admits his rotation to be more trial-and-error than set in stone.

I see some combinations out there, and I wonder, Why did I do that?' Popovich said with a chuckle. We're getting a lot of looks at a lot of different combos, that's for sure.

Contrary to popular belief, the Spurs do not divvy up minutes by drawing names out of a hat.

There are countless factors that determine how much or how little a player might play on a given night. Some of it has to do with matchups, some of it with merit. Sometimes, the best-laid plans are scrapped by unforeseen game conditions.

In a different locker room, and with a different coach, the lineup tilt-a-whirl might not work. Many an NBA team has been soured by a veteran unhappy with playing time.

That hasn't happened with the Spurs.

They seem to have followed the lead of Bruce Bowen, who started the first four games of the season and the first 555 of his Spurs' career before being transformed into a reserve.

He comes off the bench now, without complaint.

It's a matter of priorities, Bowen said. So what if you're only playing eight minutes? There are a lot of people out there who would love to play in the NBA, for just those eight minutes.

For Bonner, any amount of NBA minutes is a blessing. In the span of three games earlier this month, he played a grand total of 42 seconds.

In the past four, he's gotten an early call from Popovich, and made the most of it, averaging a shade more than nine points and making 7 of 14 3-pointers.

Bonner says he might never get used to the here-one-day, gone-the-next nature of his playing time. But he can always do his best to be prepared for it.

The coaches are constantly reminding you to stay ready, Bonner said. That gets me in the mind-frame that I might play, whether I do or I don't.

Anthony Morrow!!!

I know it has only been 2 starts for him, but this guy was seriously overlooked in the draft. It just show what 4 years of college can do for a player. Obviously he wont shoot 15-20 and 8-12 every game, but one thing is for sure the kid can shoot! Leave it to Don Nelson and the Warriors to find another gem that others cant see (ie monta ellis, Kelenna Azabuike)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GcMEoGoTMWo
