Played a round with the wife today at one of the local, better courses. I went into 4 bunkers. Normally, I don't sweat going into a bunker as I can usually get out ok. But, these bunkers had been heavily watered. The sand was like cement paste, or grout. I couldn't figure out how to hit out of it. Club wouldn't go in without tremendous force. I did fine with one fairway bunker shot but my sand wedge would just bounce and skull. Others in our foursome had the same problem. Is this poor course maintenence? Maybe I'm spoiled. Is grout-like sand considered acceptible?

Good Morning, I have been thinking about trying my hand at golf, at the driving range over the winter to start and am considering one of the available clone sets. these would be the infinity olimar and the grand hawk (callaway clones) as a starting point. I was looking at top flite and maxfi but have seen some bad reviews on their drivers. Spoke with a golf pro the other day at a department store and he suggested a starter set since a bag and putter along with other clubs will be necessary when I venture out onto the course next spring.

I just bought a Ping G5 10.5* Driver with a Diamana Stiff Shaft. I'm thinking I'm not going to like the shaft on this club (not the name brand, but the flex). I'll of course try it first but if I don't like it I don't want to get rid of the head. How much does it cost, minus the cost of the shaft, to replace the shaft on a club?
